Crawley scorers: Lancashire (36 og), Roberts (79), Smith (85)
Town's brief stint at the top of League Two came to an end today as they fell to a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at home to Crawley.
It was a strange performance from the home side, who dominated early proceedings only to fall behind through an Oliver Lancashire own goal 10 minutes before the break.
Town had chances to level things up, but some fine saves from Crawley shot stopper Glenn Morris would only further frustrate Dave Flitcroft's men.
Late goals from Jordan Roberts and Crawley captain Jimmy Smith added further salt into the Town wounds.
Town manager Dave Flitcroft was disappointed with the late capitulation: "At 1-0 down you’ve always got a very good chance of getting on the scoresheet if you keep on doing the right things and if you keep on ploughing away, but they folded and the second-half didn’t represent anything I am about and anything Swindon Town is about."
